Japan has apparently stirred Americans into a new diet frenzy. It’s called, “The Morning Banana Diet.” Sumiko Watanabe, who is a pharmacist, apparently wanted her husband to lose weight, so she developed this banana diet to increase his metabolism. If you live in Japan, the best way to beat the summer heat is to cool off with the help of a yellow-colored drink called Unagi Nobori. It’s made from the extracts of the head and bones of an eel. Now, is that interesting or just plain eeeeww-y???
For all the adventurous types out there, eel is actually a seasonal delicacy. The Japanese believe that eating eel will boost your stamina during the hottest season of the year.
