There is only so much thata teachercan do for you; they can provide you with the information that you need to learn to pass exams and guide you. However, they can not ensure that you do actually learn the material and seek out additional knowledge because this is something that you need to do for yourself. Keeping a diary will help you see when your lectures and extra-curricular activities are. You can then pencil in some studying time and decide what you want to do with your spare time. Some people prefer wall charts to diaries, where you can mark exam dates and when assignments are due throughout the year. This will help you to stay on top of your work.

In my opinion it is really important that when you find out whenyour exams are, you start preparing a revision timetable. Ideally you need to start revising at least two weeks prior to the exam. If you have several exams around the same time then at least one month before the exam. This will allow you to go over the material again a couple of times so that you can make sure that you fully understand it.

In my opinion one of the best ways to do this is to create a to do list on a daily basis. If any tasks are left, carry them over to the next day.

Even if you decide that education is not for you after highschool, you should take onboard that hard work pays off in the long run. A person that is willing to put in hard work into a task, no matter how trivial, shows potential employers that they are very self motivated. Also, if you do want to go onto further education after highschool then the more hard work that you put in now, the more results you will see later.
