There are so many different things that you could do with your friends to create lasting memories together. In fact, I can think of a hundred things, but I am not allowed to make a giant list like that on this blog! Maybe on my own personal blog, I will write that mega-list someday. For now, let me share 7 fantastic, budget-friendly things to try with friends that will bring you closer together and spark a whole lot of fun.
7. Make a Home Movie
Grab your video camera or smartphone and make a home video together! There are so many creators out there who make fun home videos and share them on YouTube. Perhaps you and your crew should do the exact same thing. If you do not want to make it public, you can always keep the footage for your own personal laughter as the years go by. Together, you could write a silly plot script, dress up, and act it out – I think this is definitely one of the most entertaining things to try with your friends. If you prefer active outdoor adventures over filming indoors, consider going swimming or planting a garden together as well.

6. Go Swimming
I am originally from Florida, so you know that I naturally enjoy swimming whenever the weather warms up! During those hot summer days, you and your friends should definitely find a local lake, pool, or ocean spot to swim in. Taking up surfing or paddleboarding, especially if you live near a beach or river, is another exciting way to enjoy the water together.
| Activity | Best Season | What to Pack | | --- | --- | --- | | Swimming & Canoeing | Summer | Towels, Sunscreen, Water | | Nature Trail Biking | Spring & Fall | Helmet, Snacks, Water Bottle | | Star-Gazing | Clear Nights | Blanket, Flashlight, Snacks |Please leave your email and we’ll get back to you on that.
5. Go Bike Riding down Some Trails
I personally love bike riding down scenic nature trails. Therefore, I am definitely going to suggest this activity to you and your friends. If you do not own bicycles, many state and local parks rent them out for a very affordable daily fee. You can also explore local bike paths using apps like AllTrails. Bicycles are a fantastic investment for your health and social life, so consider getting one for weekend group rides. Pairing a trail ride with renting a canoe makes for an incredible full-day outdoor excursion.

4. Rent a Canoe
Renting a canoe and paddling down a quiet river or lake together is a wonderful bonding experience. This is definitely one of my favorite outdoor activities. Many regional parks managed by the National Park Service offer canoe rentals and guided water routes, making it super easy for beginners to try paddling for an afternoon.

Sunshine and blue skies bring positivity and joy and it's important for every woman to take full advantage of it. Even when stuck indoors, it's still possible to enjoy some good vibes. Check out these unique tips on how to make the most of the weather right at your home. Let's celebrate every beautiful day, no matter where we are.
3. Go to the Zoo
Going to the zoo and admiring all the amazing animals is always a memorable group outing. Personally, my favorite areas are the reptile exhibits, though I truly enjoy seeing every single animal. Zoos accredited by organizations like the Association of Zoos and Aquariums offer educational exhibits and conservation programs that make the visit even more meaningful. Make sure you bring your camera to capture fun photos with your besties!
Here are a few quick essentials to keep in mind for outdoor outings with your crew:
- Safety gear (helmets, life jackets, sunscreen)
- Reusable water bottles and healthy energy snacks
- A fully charged camera or phone for capturing memories

2. Go Star-Gazing
During quiet nights when there does not seem to be much going on, lay a cozy blanket out on the grass and have everyone lie down together. Star-gazing has always been deeply peaceful and exciting to me. I have witnessed many shooting stars in my life, and the best way to catch one is to simply lie on your back and stare up at the night sky. If you love relaxing hobbies like planting a garden, spending an evening under the stars is a perfect fit. You might even choose to invest in a telescope to view constellations and planets up close together!

1. Plant a Garden
I am all for gardening and I believe that starting a small plot or container garden with a group of friends is incredibly rewarding. Gardening with friends is even more fun than doing it solo because you can divide up the care duties and share the harvest. I recently planted different flowers and vegetables with my daughter, like carnations, eggplants, squash, and sunflowers. Each year, she and I enjoy watching everything grow, which is why I strongly suggest starting a mini garden project with your close friends.
There you have 7 wonderful things to try with your friends! Some of these activities you may have done before, but even if you have tried them in the past, it does not mean you cannot do them again – as long as you are having fun together. What activity do you enjoy doing most with your crew?
