I know that Louis Vuitton is a highly coveted style house and I'm probably committing considerable fashion blasphemy but I really don't understand what the big deal is. A speedy. You make great points but I still don't understand why people pay top dollar for an unattractive bag. I think I'm just very particular about their logo bags and prefer just one solid color for handbags and suitcases.

I'm not quite a big fan of LV but I do love some of their styles. After waiting for years, I finally made a decision to purchase the Speedy 30 in Damier Ebene Canvas. After I came home, I opened a box and admired my new purse. You'd probably know how excited I was but...my heart almost stopped when I spotted something on my bag. The stamp on the leather said "Louis Vuitton Paris Made in U.S.A." I was kind of upset over this. It wasn't a big deal but I felt like it was French handbag and it should be Made in France. Moreover, since it was made in the States, why on earth they are more expensive than the ones in France. Anyway, I love my new LV purse. But I'll definite purchase that one that marked "Made in France" next time. LOL.

Olga, today I splurged on the speedy 35.. i will admit i feel utterly guilty.. but, it is such a nice bag, i just can't return it. I live in new york so of course counterfeit bags are everywhere, so I high tailed it to the LV store just to be sure. I got the 35 instead of the 30 because one of my biggest idols says if you are going to go for a bag go for the largest.. lol I am going to sleep on this purchase and hopefully in the morning I will still feel great about it, put in on with my jeans and stilettos and go !

Well...I'm debating on buying the speedy 35, I usually feel guilty about spending my own money on something expensive but in seeing that the largest isn't that expensive I'm am leaning toward it...it was either the speedy or the new gucci bag. I know the speedy will still be stylish 5 years from now...idk...debating...somewhat.
