Add a Splash of Color to Your Wardrobe

Go through your wardrobe and look for a color you have the least of. Try wearing that color at least once a week. Or if you find yourself sticking to one color most often, wear its opposite on the color wheel. Do you have a lot of pastels on your hangers? Step out in a jewel tone for a change. Are you wearing more black than a tween fresh out of Hot Topic? Break it up with bright white or a print with black in it. You'll be amazed at the difference.
Opposites Attract

Are you a jeans and tee shirt kind of girl? Try matching your jeans with a billowy top instead for a touch of femininity. Do you live in your stilettos? Try ballet flats or kitten heels for a change. Swapping out just one of your usuals for something completely different can make a bigger difference than you think.

Hair is one of the first things that people notice about you, and it’s one of the easiest things to completely forget about playing up. On your next trip to the salon, go for a style that still compliments your face shape, but is different from your usual cut. If you’re not feeling that brave, try out bangs. They are quick and easy way to make a huge impact in you appearance, without risking a cut that you may not like.
Brighten Your Day

A quick and subtle way to change up your look is to highlight your hair. Highlights add dimension and a little spruce of color. Make sure you don’t go more than two or three shades lighter than your natural color. Not quite ready for that? Try a henna rinse in instead for a lovely little boost to your hairs natural color.
Put Your Best Face Forward
Makeup is meant to enhance your natural features, not bury them, so skip one of your applications in the morning to subtly tone down your look. Try picking one feature to play up rather than making up your entire face. Play up your eyes, or go for bold lips, making sure to stick with the one feature so as to avoid the pageant girl look and overwhelm.

A smile can be a powerful thing. Make sure your smile is at its brightest by whitening your teeth. Use whitening strips or visit your local dentist for a quick tooth tune up. Be sure to brush and floss to maintain the health and brightness of your pearly whites.
Sitting Pretty

Believe it or not, one of the best things you can do to look your best is to sit up straight. Practicing good posture can do wonders for your appearance. Sit up straight with your back against your chair, your spine straight, and your head up. While you are at it, try crossing your legs at the ankle rather than the knees.
Fake It
Everyone looks great with a tan but staying out in the sun or visiting a booth can be dangerous. Save yourself from the sun’s harmful rays by getting a bronzing lotion. Is the color too intense? Mix 1 part bronzing lotion with 1 parts of your favorite lotion to gradually darker your skin. Make sure you exfoliate first, so your skin absorbs the color better. If you find streaking a problem, use baking soda to buff them away.
Go Long
If your hair is short or medium in length consider getting temporary extensions. Consult your local hair care professional and ask them about what options would best suit you. If you’re not too comfortable with the commitment of extensions, consider instead a temporary hairpiece. They come in a variety of styles and are easy to apply. Try out a few different styles for a look that is completely new.
Accessorize
Don’t be afraid to accessorize. Try a long shirt with a belt resting low on your hips. A scarf around your hair or your neck can add a dose of femininity to any wardrobe. Try out chunky jewelry, or bold metallics. Just try not to overdo it, or you’ll look more like a chandelier.
