I know a lot of you may think you are obese but you may be wrong. And then there are those on the other end of the spectrum who are obese yet choose to ignore it or are simply not aware of it. Obesity can lead to a lot of health related risks including cancer, diabetes and heart problems. That's why I think it's important for you to be able to tell the signs of obesity. Here are 10 signs someone may be suffering from obesity.

Your Knees Ache
Do you have aching knees? If yes and if it is combimed with the fact that you are overweight and can't seem to lose that weight, it may just be a sign of obesity. Generally, folks who are obese have aching knees. This is true, even if they have not been walking around. If you have been dealing with aching knees, then it is a wise idea tao see your doctor and not to lie to him about your issues.

Aching Back
Ofcourse there may be tons of reasons for an aching back. Have you had a bad fall recently? An accident in the past? Been lifting heavy weights? Been working too hard? If you rule out these possibilities, don't just assume that it's obesity. If you are however experiencing a couple of these signs, go see a doctor.

Are you experiencing difficulty with everyday chores? Do you tire yourself even if all you have to do is stand in your kitchen and cook a family dinner? Would you rather take a short shower as opposed to a bubble bath because you find it difficult to get up from the tub? If you could easily dust every nook and corner once upon a time but now find it difficult even to plug in the vacum cleaner, maybe it's time to re-evaluate your health. Your weight should not interfere with your daily chores and if it is maybe you need to look into losing some weight.

Rashes in the Folds of Your Skin
When you look in between the folds of your skin, are there any rashes? When you’re obese, the folds of the skin trap heat. This in turn causes rashes to form. Many times, the rashes can be painful to the touch. There are ointments that you can apply to those rashes in order to help with the pain. You may also want to put baby powder there in order to prevent rashes from forming. If it happens one too many times, you may want to consult your doctor.

Do you experience a shortness of breath even if you're not involved in an intense cardio activity? Shortness of breath is definitely a sign that you are obese. Just from walking out to the mailbox that is not far away, individuals who are obese can get a shortness of breath. Again, you should speak with your doctor about this.

Generally, snoring does not necessarily mean that you are obese. However, after doing some research on my end, I found that obese people have a tendency to snore. If your partner has told you that you snore at night and you have noticed other signs of obesity, then you may want to speak with your doctor about a health plan.

Individuals who are obese have a tendency to have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is classified as those moments when your breathing stops when you are sleeping. If you have noticed this problem occurring while you sleep, then you definitely need to speak with your doctor. Your doctor always knows what is best for you.

You can also do a BMI calculation in order to determine whether or not you are obese. There are many BMI calculators on the Internet. If you discover that you truly are obese, then you should not let this depress you as it is not the end of the world. Something can be done about it. There are many health plans that involve eating healthy food and exercisethat will help you out. And for the rest of you, don't wait till it's late... avoid obesity while you can.
