Here’s a great little kit with eight eyeshadows, four lip glosses and a blusher. The shadows include pale shades for the day, and more dramatic shades for night. The only drawback is that it doesn’t have brushes or mascara, although you could dye your lashes before traveling.

This kit has three eyeshadows, three glosses and a blush. Again, there is no mascara, but you do get a double-ended brush. Me being me, I love the purple case.

3. Lorac Doublebooked Full Face Collection

This comes in a smart little case, and includes (almost) everything you could possibly want. Eyeshadows, lip glosses, bronzer, lipliner – but alas, no mascara again. A very stylish kit for traveling though.

4. Too Faced Glamour to Go

Am I the only one who would like a mini mascara included in a travel kit? It’s missing again here! Some lovely versatile eye shades though that would suit most people, plus four lip colors and a pretty pale blusher.

If you're in the relentless hunt for the perfect mascara, that not only volumizes but also gives your lashes the much-needed lift, then you should absolutely give the dior show mascara a try. It's undeniably one of the best mascaras that guarantees both length and volume while leaving no clumps behind.

5. Bobbi Brown Mauve Kit

You can rely on Bobbi Brown to come up with wearable shades. This kit would be perfect for someone who likes to keep their makeup simple and subtle. It consists of three eye and three lip shades, plus a blusher.

I don’t think this set misses a thing out! Pencils, mascara, plus all the usual suspects … and a brush set. It folds shut, so is easily packed and transported.

8. Estee Lauder Pure Color Palette

If you prefer to keep things ultra simple, then this kit would be fine. Three lovely neutral eyeshadows plus one lipstick would be perfect for a no-fuss look, and the kit would take up no space at all in your case or bag.
