By Melanie

Yes, I took a break for awhile with posting movie blogs. I guess because nothing has really caught my eye. However, this week, there are plenty of movies that are catching my eye! Of course, as I always promise, because kids deserve to watch good movies, I am going to put a movie on here just for kids.

Shrek Forever after

Director: Mike Mitchell
Cast: Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Julie Andrews.
Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy

Come on, we can’t forget about the ogres in far away land! This one is perfect for the kids (and adults too). With this Shrek, he is put under a spell that makes everyone forget about Shrek. This changes everything and makes things very different for Shrek. Very good plot and perfect for your kids.

Daddy Longlegs

Director: Josh Safdie
Cast: Ronald Bronstein, Sage Ranaldo, Frey Ranaldo, Victor Puccio, Eleonore Hendricks.
Genre: Comedy

The plot in this movie seems almost perfect for a weekend movie with your husband or wife. The movie starts with a father that's been divorced and has to watch after his own two sons. The only problem is that he is a kid himself. Although, he is in an adult body he acts as if he is three or four years old. Well, he has to wake up, take care of his sons now, and meet reality. This is a comedy, so it should be good for a weekend movie.

Robin Hood

Director: Ridley Scott
Cast: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong
Genre: Drama

A famous story that takes place in the old medieval times and based on a king that doesn't give to the people of its land. This Robin Hood is more in depth with the story and brings more drama. This movie has been remade many times, but this time it's going to be more into the story of Robin Hood and how he helped the towns people from the bad king. A perfect weekend movie with your friend or husband!

Letters to Juliet

Director: Gary Winick
Cast: Amanda Seyfried, Vanessa Redgrave, Chris Egan, Gael García Bernal, Franco Nero
Genre: Romance

We all like Romeo and Juliet stories and this one is inspiring. The story takes place in Verona Italy, which is the where Romeo and Juliet first met. The wall in Verona has many love letters that the lovelorn leave to get someone to answer him or her. Well one of them find this letter and makes their attempt to pull the lovers together. Very inspiring story about love and it's perfect for you and your loved one to see over this weekend.

3

Furry Vengeance

Director: Roger Kumble
Cast: Brendan Fraser, Brooke Shields, Matt Prokop, Angela Kinsey, Toby Huss
Genre: Family

Now this movie is going to be funny, because Brendan Fraser has always been funny in his past movies. With this story he plays as Dan Sanders and he has a new project for a huge subdivision in Oregon. However, to do so they need to destroy the local land that many animals inhabit. A very smart raccoon and his allies (other fury friends) take a stand to stop the project. I have to take my family to come see this. It's going to be great!
