7 Movie Characters I'd Love to Date ...

Moviesare such a great form of escape, aren’t they? You can travel the world, meet new people, have amazing adventures… and even choose a new boyfriend, all without leaving your couch! I especially enjoy falling in love with movie boyfriends… and why not? I could never do it in real life… here’s my list of 7 movie characters I’d love to date

1 John Cusack as Lloyd Dobbler in “Say Anything”

John Cusack as Lloyd Dobbler in “Say Anything” Imagine what your life would be like if you had this guy behind you, supporting your decisions, telling you how lovely you are, never letting you forget how special and wonderful and loved you are. He’s honest, romantic, sweet, and kind… what’s not to love?

Frequently asked questions

2 Mathieu Kassovitz as Nino Quincampoix in “Amelie”

Mathieu Kassovitz as Nino Quincampoix in “Amelie” I have a weakness for guyswho are a little odd, a little out of the mainstream, so naturally I fell in love with Nino from Amelie and his obsession with collecting things… discarded photos, funny laughs… he just seemed so quirky, but so wonderful…

3 Carey Elwes as Wesley in “the Princess Bride”

Carey Elwes as Wesley in “the Princess Bride” “As you wish,” … what woman doesn’t want to hear that once in a while? And who wouldn’t want to be saved from RATS in a fire swamp, or saved from the wicked but inept Price Humperdinck? All Wesley needs to do is lose the cheesy moustache and ponytailand he’s prime boyfriend material!

4 Colin Firth as Fitzwilliam Darcy in “Pride and Prejudice”

Colin Firth as Fitzwilliam Darcy in “Pride and Prejudice” He may not seem like the best candidate for a boyfriend or suitor in the beginning of the movie (miniseries, actually), but as time goes on, we fall just as madly in love with him as Elizabeth… and why not? He’s handsome, has a good fortune, and is kind to his sister. Once she takes him down a notch, Mr. Darcy is the perfect man for Lizzie… and for me!

5 Adam Sandler as Henry Roth in “50 First Dates”

Adam Sandler as Henry Roth in “50 First Dates” This movie is a comedy, but it’s so sweet, and Henry is so endearing, he had to have a spot on my list. He’s in love with a girl who, once she falls asleep at night, forgets all about him. Instead of running away, he makes her fall in love with him all over again each day… and he comes up with a way to fill her in on their life together… he’s perfect!

6 Colin Firth as Mark Darcy in “Bridget Jones’ Diary”

Colin Firth as Mark Darcy in “Bridget Jones’ Diary” I had to include this variation of the classic Mr. Darcy, because once again, Colin Firth proves himself to be worthy of being a great movie boyfriend. He’s standoffish, downright rude, snubbing poor Bridgette in the beginning, making her hate, and then adore him. By the end, you’re rooting for them to get together, and if they don’t, well, you’re available!

7 Adam Sandler as Robbie in “the Wedding Singer”

Adam Sandler as Robbie in “the Wedding Singer” Two Adam Sandler characters in the same list? You have to admit though, that Robbie would make a great boyfriend. He’s sweet, loving, kind, and doesn’t have any anger or animosity towards anyone. He’s also kind of cute, in a 1980s retro sort of way… But no, I don’t want to see him in spandex!

If I had to choose just one of these amazing movie boyfriends, I’d have to choose Nino… or maybe Darcy… hmm… time to rent them both! Which of these movie boyfriends do you adore, and why? Or is there another one I’ve left off my list? Please let me know!
