The Promise: Retinol, Carrot, and Cucumber

I’ll be the first to admit it: I’m worried about aging I’m almost forty, and I find myself constantly on the lookout for wrinkles and fine lines, especially around my eyes. I’m always willing to try something new, and when I saw this on a shelf a few months ago, I gave it a go.

Price: Originally $15 at woodridgelab.com (Check specialty retailers or marketplaces like eBay for current availability).

The bottle promises that the Retinol-enriched carrot oil and cucumber will cool and soothe tired-looking, puffy eyes, which has been something of a problem for me for about five years. It also says it will diminish the appearance of crow’s feet and other eye-area circles and wrinkles if you use it over time, so I was excited to try it.

My Real-World Experience: 6 Weeks with 40 Carrots

I set aside my Estee Lauder eye cream and used this after my morning wash. I pumped a tiny amount onto my finger and rubbed it gently under and around my eyes. It soaked in immediately, without a greasy feeling, and instantly I felt a little cooling tingle. I used it every morning for six weeks and noticed a great improvement in the light under-eye wrinkles, and a little improvement in my (so far) slight crow’s feet.

The cucumber does soothe and cool, which I think is fantastic for the summer months. Once I apply the gel, I wait for a few minutes before applying my eye makeup, but it’s never heavy or greasyβ€”my makeup just glides right on. If you're struggling with persistent issues, you might want to check out the top causes of dark circles to see if your routine needs more than just a topical fix.

  • Non-Greasy Formula: Absorbs instantly for easy makeup application.
  • Cooling Effect: Cucumber extract provides immediate relief for puffy eyes.
  • Retinol Power: Helps diminish the look of fine lines over time.
  • Budget-Friendly: A great alternative to high-end retinol eye creams.

Final Verdict: Is It Worth the $15?

I tend to use it in the mornings only, although I have used it before an evening out and it’s quite a little pick-me-up. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone who’s got a few eye-area wrinkles starting and wants to stop them in their tracks. While the original Woodridge Labs formula is a legacy product, you can still find similar 40 Carrots skin care products through current distributors. I can’t wait to use it this summer!
