Adding some paint will freshen up your terrace. Get off to the DIY stores, grab some paint, and turn the fencing or walls a lovely bright colour. Don’t worry if your brush skills aren’t up to much, a perfect finish doesn’t matter. In fact, a rough finish can look more interesting.

Grow some fruit and vegetables. Many are well suited to container gardening, and there are even special varieties of fruit which have been bred to grow in pots. So you don’t need an orchard to have your own fruit trees!

I hope this has inspired you to enjoy your own outdoor space! These ideas would also work for a patio or yard, so why not get creative! Have you got any suggestions of your own?
