Honestly, I am a big fan of caffeine. I mean, aren’t many people? Despite that sudden boost of energy that many of us love to love, there are some reasons that you need to cut back on caffeine. If you have been told that you need to cut back on that caffeine, then this blog is for you. I am going to give you 8 ways to cut back on caffeine …

8 Cut Back Gradually

As with any addiction, you will need to cut back gradually. Now, some people will tell you to just quit cold turkey, but this really is not a good idea. Reduce the amount of caffeine you drink each day and before you know it, you won’t be missing a thing. Remember, there are other alternatives to caffeine – such as acai berry.

7 Drink Water

Everyone should be drinking water each day, but in this case, it will help reduce the effects of caffeine withdrawal. You should drink half your body weight. So, an individual that is one hundred and sixty pounds should drink eighty ounces of water every day.

6 Reduce the Amount

Along with cutting back gradually, when you do drink something, such as coffee, you can easily reduce the amount of caffeine you consume. Fill your glass halfway with coffee, then add hot water to the rest of it.

5 Drink Espresso

Did you know that you can cut your caffeine by drinking espresso? Espresso has less caffeine than the normal drip coffee. Instead of drip coffee, go for café Americano – you will get the same flavor, yet less caffeine.

4 Watch for Hidden Caffeine

You should watch for hidden caffeine – there are certain tablets, such as Excedrin that contain caffeine. In fact, 2 tablets are more than a cup of coffee and of course, I’m sure you know that energy drinks are loaded with caffeine.

3 Green Tea

If it is an absolute must that you have caffeine, then you can get your fix by consuming green tea. Freshly brewed green tea will give you that energy, but it is something that is good for you. I always liked green tea.

2 Sleep

You may be craving all that caffeine during the day simply because you do not get enough sleep during the night. Therefore, that caffeine keeps you going. Make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep every night.

1 Plan Ahead

Before you quit consuming caffeine, you will need to plan ahead. You should realize that you are going to be dealing with headaches and mood swings. Prepare yourself for all of the above.
