Back in the days when the search engine was first set up it used to be called BackRub. I do not know about all of you but I am very happy that they changed the name to Google; it rolls of the tongue easily and sounds more relevant to looking on the web.

This is a great idea because when you are surfing the web you can use the notebook to jot down any information that you may need later. Doing this can be a lot easier than opening up a separate document and typing all of the information.

Google Scholar is very important for those that are studying at University because you can search for more in depth academic information relating to your subject. For example, if studying Psychology you would go onto this section of Google to find different scientific journals and papers. The results found will be more detailed than on the normal Google website.

Also you have a favourite music group or movie that is in another language; therefore you can translate the relevant website.

With Google Documents you are able to share a range of documents, such as Spreadsheets and Presentations, with lots of people. This is done by uploading the document and then giving the other people permission to view the files. You will find this to be particularly useful when more than one person needs to update a document.

There you have 7 things you may not know about Google, I know that there are a few items on this list that I only found out about a couple of months ago. Where Google changes regularly it can sometimes be difficult to keep up to date with all of their modifications, so hopefully this will help. Do you know any other facts on this search engine?
