Ah! Milan Fashion Week….Sometimes I wish I lived in Italy to soak in all the fashion and be one with it. Well dreams aside, the Milan Fashion Week saw a wonderful amalgamation of bright colors, sheer fabric, ruffles, high heels, short hemlines (Yaay!) , a confirmation of the return of shoulder pads (Why God why!) and power suits….Here are some of the looks that walked down the ramp. The stars: Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Catherine-Zeta Jones, Jennifer Lopez
The look: (According to New York Fashion) – King and Queen of the European disco scene, screen vixen eating up the red carpet.
If that’s the image that the label has to live by, what more should you expect but the best from Versace’s Spring 2009 Collection at the Milan Fashion Week.

Artsy, out of the ordinary. Funky fashion student—with a trust fund
That’s the “Marni look” as described by NY Fashion. And for the Milan Fashion Week, we’ve seen that the label does induce a funky fashion statement.
The theme of the show is positive spring – and we couldn’t have described Consuela Castiliogni’s creations any better. The designs are fun, upbeat, youthful – with a lot of exaggerated layers which ate both fresh and functional.

Let’s start off with this printed blue frock whose monotony is broken by the lace accent on the waist. The matching accessories are equally fun and funky!

If you don’t know that Tom Ford is the designer who’s solely responsible for transforming Gucci from a ho-humm luxury Italian brand into a rockin’ billion dollar empire, you’re probably living under a rock for the past 15 years.
Today’s times are tough – so when Tom Ford left, Frida Ginanni had to fill his enormous shoes – and she’s done a great job so far.
There are no surprises for her Gucci Spring 2009 collection from the Milan Fashion Week – let’s see if majority of the pieces are worth raving about:

If there’s one designer name which is synonymous to glam and rockin’ outfits, that is none other than Roberto Cavalli.
The designer has proven his worth since his first collection was showcased in 1972 – and there’s no stopping him since then. For the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 collection which was held in the runways of Milan’s Fashion Week– we’ll get to see some signature Cavalli pieces – and a few new ones.

NY Fashion couldn’t have stated it better. The Prada look is all about old-world Italian luxury wrapped in forward-thinking design.
That is exactly what we saw at Prada’s Spring 2009 runway show at the Milan Fashion Week. The theme is rumpled charm – and ‘rumpled’ has never looked better!
Check out the ultra-feminine creations by Miuccia Prada.

If you’re looking for something that’s subtly chic, don’t watch a D&G runway show.
At the recent D&G French Fashion Spring 2009 collection which was shown at the Milan Fashion Week, the designs of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were fun, chic, unabashedly sexy and unapologetically flashy.
NY Fashion describes the D&G look well:
Devastatingly sexy, fetishistic designs and a characteristically Italian aesthetic; every collection would look at home on the set of a Fellini movie.
