Amla Tea or Supplemental Capsule
Amla is also known as Indian gooseberry. The fresh juice from this luscious berry is extremely beneficial as a diarrhea remedy. The juice can be mixed with a little bit of sugar and lemon juice to improve the taste. If you don’t want to bother trying to doctor the taste of this juice, then it would be easier to purchase some Amla supplements. These capsules are sold at most health food stores.
Ginger and Boiling Water
Mix boiling water with freshly ground ginger root and drink a half cup of this concoction every hour. Ginger is great for an upset stomach, digestive cramping, and it also has properties that help reduce inflammation. Powdered ginger can be used in place of fresh ginger, but you’ll only have to use half as much, due to its higher concentration.
Frequently asked questions
Cayenne, Ginger, and Lemon
Combine a quarter teaspoon of cayenne powder, a half teaspoon of ginger juice or a quarter teaspoon of powdered ginger, and a half teaspoon of lemon juice. You can add some honey to this mix if you prefer it to be a bit sweeter. Drink this mix twice a day. Don’t use this diarrhea remedy if you are sensitive to spicy food.
Bananas and Cottage Cheese
Eating a banana and a small bowl of cottage cheese has been known to help eliminate diarrhea in many individuals. You don’t have to chop the banana up and mix it with the cottage cheese. Eat them separately and they should do the trick. If you don’t like bananas, then you can substitute a mango and a teaspoon of ginger.
Amaranth Tea
Take 2 teaspoons of Amaranth seeds and boil them in 3 cups of water. Once the water comes to a boil, allow it to simmer for 7 minutes. Add a teaspoon of Amaranth leaves to the boiling water and seeds. Steep the leaves for 30 minutes. Scoop out the leaves and drink the water and seeds a cup at a time. Two cups a day is the recommended amount to get rid of diarrhea.
