17 Most Amazing Places to Visit in Europe …

9. Paris …

One of the most visited places in Europe, Paris obviously has a lot to offer. From the fashion to the food, there is also the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame. I love the atmosphere here. I spent my first week here checking out the history and revelling in the old style buildings, so make sure that you too visit this amazing gorgeous city!

10. Athens …

One of the most significant places in the world, Athens is filled with scents and sights that are designed to excite the senses and it’s a perfect place to mix exploring and sunbathing! I cannot wait to visit.

11. Amsterdam …

Despite its reputation, Amsterdam is actually a beautiful city. With it’s free running canals, Van Gogh Museum and an explorable Royal Palace, there is enough to keep you busy for weeks, and the city is bursting with life. I can’t wait to revisit!

12. Madrid …

With its lovely temperatures and gorgeous restaurants, Madrid is another city that never sleeps. Spend the day checking out modern art museums, and the nights enjoying tapas and the nightlife. This is a city for everybody, and it’s simply unbeatable in terms of simplicity and uniqueness.

13. Barcelona …

A beautiful costal town, this is a perfect mix of cities and beaches, meaning you can spend your time mixing fun with relaxation. The Mountain fanfare is unmissable, especially if you have children, and I love the Catalan restaurants. Also make sure you don’t miss the Sagrada Famalia, which is the jewel of Barcelona’s crown.

14. Berlin …

This city is going through a big change, which makes it a fascinating time to visit. I plan to visit Potsdam, just outside Berlin, to see the picturesque houses and gardens, and then visit both the East and the West of Berlin while they still have their separate identities. Also make sure you visit the Einstein Cafe, which is a marvelous teashop set in an old manor house.

15. Cornwall …

An odd city to feature, but nestled in England’s lazy leg, Cornwall is definitely worth a visit. I love wandering around the fishing villages and peaceful beaches, and the Eden project is well worth the time. There is also the house of King Arthur, who is a big legend. There are magnificent teashops, fish restaurants, and of course, it’s the home of the Cornish Pasty!

16. Copenhagen …

This is a gorgeous Scandanvian city, and I cannot wait to visit. With sights such as Hamlet’s castle, Tivoli gardens, and the Little Mermaid statue, and plenty of museums and art galleries too, the city just captures simplicity. To top it all off, deposit a coin and borrow a bike to sightsee on, and you even get your coin back when you return!

17. Florence …

The mighty Medici family kept this city magnificent, and it now hosts several huge art galleries. However, the main attraction must be the Pont D’Vecchio bridge, with its beautiful architecture and thriving jewelry market. I plan to visit here very, very soon.

So here are my favourite European cities, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I will! Have you got a favourite city, or a story about any of the above? Please share them with me! I love hearing about peoples adventures in beautiful cities.

I must say there are some gorgeous places to visit on this planet….and you did a wonderful job selecting few of them. For me though, I love to visit my family who live in various places of the world, and do some site seeing with them. Japan and Portugal are on my list as next places to travel to.
