Tina Fey is the new Hollywood âItâ girl. On September 21st Fey received three Emmy Awards for her outstanding writing, acting, and creation of â30 Rockâ. One week earlier on âSaturday Night Liveâ Feyâs first spoof of vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin went down in history as their highest-rated premiere since 2001. She mocked Palin a second time this past Saturday as her co-star Amy Poehler depicted Katie Couric. The two actresses played out the interview that everyone is talking about from CBSâs âEvening Newsâ. Poehler also co-starred in Feyâs recently released DVD of the hit comedy âBaby Mamaâ, which released at the number one spot in theaters back in April.
Fey and Poehler have been together on âSNLâ since 2001. In 2004 when Poehler stepped in for actor Jimmy Fallon for the âWeekend Updateâ on âSNLâ it became the very first time two women co-anchored the skit. Also that year the actresses went to the big screen for the first time together as teachers in the comedy âMean Girlsâ, which Fey wrote the screenplay for based on the book âQueen Bees and Wannabesâ by Rosalind Wiseman.
Fey is on a roll and everyone is noticing. This fall â30 Rockâ will be throwing around some famous names as Jennifer Aniston, Steve Martin, Megan Mullally, and Oprah Winfrey are set to guest star. For all the Oprah fans, be ready to watch on November 6th.
One question that may be on her fanâs minds, âWho is Tina Fey voting for?â. Now that she has done the parody of Palin twice are fans to think that she is against the vice presidential candidate? Or is Fey a fan because she would like Palin to contact her regarding the skit?
