The Sundance Film Festival was kicked off last week. For those who are unaware, the Sundance Film Festival is held every January in Park City, Utah. This is the biggest independent film festival in the United States. It was founded in 1978, in the hopes of making Utah more attractive to filmmakers. One of its founders is the magnificent Robert Redford. During its first years, the festival was just a small event that attracted low-profile actors and small-budget films. These days, the Sundance Film Festival is one of Hollywood's top January destinations. And thanks to the paparazzi and the fact that the festival has grown, we have these photos to enjoy.

Ryan Gosling went tubing at Sundance. Because it's a winter resort and it's supposed to be fun.
4. Katie Holmes (Sans Tom) Looking a Lot like Joey

I'm talking about Joey Potter. This photois giving me a Joey Potter vibe. I miss Dawson's Creek. I like that Katie has longer hair now.

Ryan Gosling (before he went tubing, I presume) and Michelle Williams promote their movie Blue Valentine. Another movie I cannot wait to watch. I read that it's VERY sexy.

Orlando braved the cold streets of Park City. If I were him, I'd think life is unfair since his girlfriend, Miranda Kerr, is currenly in St. Barts, shooting for Victoria's Secret.

Ahhh, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, my favorite. Probably one of the greatest actors today. Of course, it's only natural that he will be at the festival.

Theo: stereotypically, every one has to sport that Utah punk grunge look. Not sure how it works exactly but KStew has it down pat! the actors have some interesting sweaters (I'm look at you Adrien Brody...is that who you meant? hahha wish that was Adam Brody)
