Kids Model Magic Party Favors

Make these great party favors ahead of time or have your guests create their own! It's a fun way to dress your party table no matter what the theme! Crafting Time: 15-30 minutes each plus drying time. The skill level is easy and you would need the following materials:
- Crayola® Model Magic® (your choice of colors
- Rolling Pin
- Plastic Knife
- Craft Blue (optional)

Here is how to do those in the pictures shown above:

Blocks:
Shape a handful of Model Magic into a block. Create as many blocks as needed to spell the desired name, initials, message, etc. Roll additional Model Magic into a skinny snake and pinch off pieces to form letters. Allow the blocks to air dry overnight.

Party Hats:
Use the rolling pin to roll Model Magic into a large, flat sheet, about 1/8-inch thick. Use the plastic knife to cut a large triangle from the sheet. Roll the triangle into a cone shape as -shown and press and smooth the edges together. Use the plastic knife to trim along the bottom edge to make it even. Roll another color of Model Magic into a skinny snake and press it around the bottom edge of the hat. Roll additional Model Magic into small, flattened balls and press them onto the hat, as shown. Roll another ball and press it onto the top. Allow the hat to air dry overnight.

Birthday Cake:
Using three different colors of Model Magic, roll three balls making each one bigger than the previous. Flatten each ball slightly and shape into cake layers, as shown. Roll another color of Model Magic into long, skinny snakes. Use the plastic knife to cut pieces to fit around each cake layer as shown. Shape additional pieces into letters and press them onto the cake. Cut small pieces for candles. Roll a skinny snake from yellow Model Magic and cut it into small pieces for candle flames. Press the flames onto the candles. If desired for a more secure hold, dip the ends of the candles into glue before adding them to the top of the cake. Allow the cake to air dry overnight.

Gift Box:
Shape a handful of Model Magic into a box shape (it may be square, rectangle, or even round). For a marbleized effect, partially mix two colors together. Use the rolling pin to roll another color of Model Magic into a flat sheet, about 1/8-inch thick. Use the plastic knife to cut strips from the sheet for ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the gift box as shown and make a bow.
Allow the gift box to air dry overnight.

Some useful tips and warnings:
Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer's instructions for all products used. Younger children should use the plastic knife only with an adult's supervision. Keep finished product away from open flame. Do not mold Model Magic® into candleholders or other like items for use around flame. Do not put in oven, microwave, or kiln.

Have fun!
