Health Hero Nutritionals Yummi Bears Multivitamins- Are They Safe?

A study performed by Consumerlab.com reported that only 10 of the 21 brands of multivitamins on the market in the United States and Canada met the stated claims on their labels or satisfied other quality standards. Amongst those which did not pass the test was the "Hero Nutritional Yummi Bears Multivitamins" and the "Vitamin Shoppe Multivitamins Especially for Women."

These children's vitamins were found to have much higher level of vitamin A than is considered safe. Per this article, too much vitamin A can cause bone weakening and liver abnormalities so the Yummi Bears "could be potentially doing more harm than good!" Hummm....not good news!

In the case of the "Vitamin Shoppe Multivitamins Especially for Women," these vitamins were found to be "contaminated with lead - that is the levels of lead were much higher than the quality standard! For more on this article, click here.

Per this article, "you are safer choosing a well-know brand of vitamins - it's your best bet!"
