Many of us have a common goal and that would be to look healthy and slim, especially during those summer months. After having two babies, I have personally gotten creative at how to go about looking slimmer, until I can reach that ultimate goal. For those of you who are like myself, carrying around some extra pounds, you can benefit this information. Below, I am going to share with you, my 10 tricks to look skinnier…
In the fashion world, you have lots of rules, such as not wearing a brown belt with shoes that are black or not wearing white to someone’s wedding. Even when you are trying your hardest to follow those rules, there is a whole new set of fashion laws that you should follow when you are trying to camouflage those extra pounds.

Have you tried on the color white lately? How did you look? Argh, not good! Well, get rid of those light clothes and go for the dark clothes. You will be surprised at how much slimmer you look by wearing black!

If you are tall, then you can wear a long dress, which will not only elongate the look of your body, but make you appear skinnier. If you are short, then a knee length dress could make you look taller. Avoid ankle length at all costs.

Diagonal stripes, optical illusion patterns and zig zags can really fool the eye and take away from those problem areas. However, it is important that you avoid those vertical and horizontal stripes, because those can make you look heavier than you really are.

Of course, wearing something over the shoulders is going to make you appear slimmer than you really are. Therefore, it would only make since to wear a pashmina or a big scarf over the shoulders. A pashmina or scarf can look quite stylish and really add to your style.

Would you like to look slimmer? Of course you would! One of my favorite tricks is to wear bigger accessories. Obviously, when you wear bigger accessories, it will make you appear smaller. Those big accessories consist of things such as a necklace, earrings and bracelets.

Not too long ago, I noticed that when I wear heels, it makes me look slimmer. Have you ever noticed this when you put them on? Perhaps, that is why many women are wearing high heels. There are many stylish high heels that you can get.

Just like with wearing big accessories, carrying a big bag around is going to make you look more miniature. There are many big, trendy bags out there that look good. Just because you carry a big purse around does not mean you are a granny! Today, even teenagers have big bags!

One of the most important things you could do to look skinnier is to have good posture. When you sit or stand, make sure you are straight. When you slouch, this is going to show roles and can make you look heavier. Suck in your tummy and keep that back straight.

Of course, many believe that wearing baggy clothing will make them look slimmer. Besides, it hides the fat. Right? Wrong. The truth is that when you wear baggy clothing, it makes you look bigger. It is important to find the right balance of clothing that is not too baggy or too tight. Bulky fabrics, such as sweaters can have this same effect.

Spanx is a big secret that many women are using. Sure, you can sit there and make fun of it all you want, but it really does work and that is why many women are buying them and talk shows are talking about how good they are! It is meant to create clean lines under your clothes and it does improve your shape. It helps hold it all in and drop an inch or so. When you wear this, your clothes are going to fit better and you will automatically look skinnier.
