It’s some kind of unwritten law: everyone, everywhere must like chips and salsa (or some other dip). There are so many kinds of chips, and so many kinds of dip, there’s certain to be something for everyone. There’s tortilla chips with salsa, there’s Lay’s with French onion dip, there’s Doritos just plain by themselves. Pour some crisps into a bowl, choose two types of dip or salsa, and there you go. Super Bowl treat number one complete!

It may seem a little messy for the Super Bowl crowd, but it’s delicious and filling. Here’s what you need: one pound of ground turkey or ground beef (browned), three cans of diced tomatoes, two cans of pinto beans (drained), one can of dark red kidney beans (drained), one can of condensed tomato soup (and one can of water), and one packet of McCormick’s chili seasoning. You just throw everything into the crock pot, set it on low, and let it simmer all day! Voila a delicious crock-pot meal! Top with sour cream, fresh diced tomatoes, grated cheddar cheese, onions, you name it… a real crowd-pleaser! And you know, they do sell plastic bowls and spoons, so clean-up is easy, too!

Men like meat. They do! So here’s a Super Bowl food that will make them happy. Just add one pound of pulled pork, one cup of water, and your choice of how much of your favorite bar-be-que sauce to the crock pot, stir well, and simmer until you can’t help yourself, you just have to try it! Load a pile of pork onto a bun and top with whatever you prefer. Set out a side of coleslaw and let the fellas make their own sandwiches… yum!

This is easy, and men and women alike will enjoy it. Make one pound of rotini noodles and chill. Dice one half of a green bell pepper, cut up one pint of grape tomatoes, and add them to the rotini with a package of crumbled feta cheese and a small tin of sliced black olives. Toss with a little Italian salad dressing, and you’re done! Tasty and light and perfect for when you are trying to keep your diet!

This one’s easy and versatile and can be served with toothpicks! Toss some meatballs into the crock pot with some Swedish or sweet-and-sour sauce, and let them simmer. Put a stack of small plates and a toothpick dispenser nearby and let the fellas help themselves…

I know, I know, who wants to eat healthful, nutritious, low calorie food at a Super Bowl party? But trust me, put out a veggie tray and it’s sure to be popular. Sliced or baby carrots, grape or cherry tomatoes, broccoli florettes, and sliced cucumbers are everyone’s favorites, especially if you add some optional ranch dressing as dip!

These are so easy, and so perfect for any Super Bowl gathering! Marinate a bag of frozen chicken wings in a glass dish with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce for about three hours, then bake them in the oven at 425 for an hour. Remove from the dish and dip them in a mixture of Frank’s and melted butter, two parts to one. Put them back in the glass dish and bake for another 20 minutes at 250, then cool just a little and serve. The meat is so tender, it just falls off the bone!

Johnsonville makes the best brats ever, and they’re sure to be a hit at your Super Bowl party! Grill them and serve them in buns alone or with some sauerkraut. So tasty! But try to leave this one for the men and stick to healthier options yourself. You never know when you may end up eating one too many. Ofcourse nothing a few extra cardio exercises won't take care of ;)

Now remember that pizza isterrible food for your hipsbut if all else fails, and you just don’t have the time or patience to make anything else, pizza is always a great Super Bowl food! Make sure to order a few with pepperoni and one with just cheese (for the ladies or for any vegetarians who might attend). Just about everyone loves pizza, and you won’t have to cook a thing!
Pick three or four of these to make (or order for delivery), stock up on soda and beer, choose a team to root for, and let the Super Bowl begin! What’s your sure-fire Super Bowl food, and how do you prepare and serve it? Please let me know!
