It’s red carpet fashion time once again! We’ve skipped out on Emmy’s fashion due to the writer’s strike held last year – but this year, all our favorite Hollywood celebs are back with a vengeance!
Bright colored gowns, designer frocks and fresh-off-the-runway pieces dominated the red carpet. Here’s what we thought are the top 3 best and worst dressed femmes at the 2008 Emmy Awards.
BEST DRESSED
1. Brooke Shields
The “Lipstick Jungle” star easily ruled the red carpet in this gorgeous, tiered Badgley Mischka gown. She kept her accessories at a minimum – and her hair and makeup’s perfect!
2. Mariska Hargitay
Mariska Hargitay may have lost to Glenn Close in the Lead Actress in a Drama category, but she looked every inch a fashion winner in this fluid, marigold Grecian gown by Carolina Herrera.
3. Heidi Klum
No surprise here – Heidi Klum looked the supermodel/wacky Emmy host that she is in this Armani Prive number which has a color that stood out among the reds and yellows and blacks in this year’s Emmy red carpet.
HONORABLE MENTIONS FOR BEST DRESSED: Christina Applegate in a one-shouldered ice blue Reem Acra column gown, and Sandra Oh in a lace-and-chiffon Oscar dela Renta gown.
WORST DRESSED
1. Christina deRosa
Christina de Rosa stood out like a sore thumb (and was mistaken for Alyssa Milano) in this white, mermaid-like dress with an upturned neckline – it’s more of a costume than a red carpet dress.
2. Emile de Ravin
Don’t get me wrong – Aussie actress Emilie de Ravin is beautiful – and I love her character in “Lost“. But this Matthew Williamson Islay tiered goddess ombre dress hardly made her look like a goddess! I don’t know if it’s the color or the silhouette or her hairstyle that’s all wrong – but it didn’t do anything for her!
3. Jennifer Love Hewitt
Jennifer Love-Hewitt came donned in this Carolina Herrera gown which looked like it has barbed wire designed – with the hair to match!
HONORABLE MENTIONS FOR WORST DRESSED: I love the 2009 Marchesa flapper-style dress worn by Eva Longoria– but the hair’s all wrong!
America Ferrera should also be on the worst dressed list cos her dress was very unflattering………….but her hair & make up was ok!!!
I actually like the dress umm yeah its pretty odd but its different and that’s what i like about it. I’m tired of seeing the same ole, same ole. On the other hand the dress from my stand point is too plain. She should have worn something loud to make it ‘pop’!! the hair is too normal for the dress.
