Are Horizontal Stripes for Everyone?

I think not. I know they’re a big trend, but you’re got to be careful not to abuse them. I’m not sure what Nicole Richi would look like if she weren’t all scrunched up and hiding from stalkerazzi, but I’m guessing those wide stripes swamp her small frame.

Judging from the little piece in Life and Style, I’m not the only one who thinks Vanessa Minnillo’s tee is just right. She picked the perfect fit–slightly loose and a little longer–to complement her longer shorts and bag. Although I’m questioning that part about horizontal stripes being “surprisingly slimming”. . .

What the Kentucky Derby’s All About

The Kentucky Derby means two things to me: horses and giant hats. While I love a statement, I’m not so sure about these big hats. Some of them work well, like Laura Prepon’s hat and shoes combo, while I’m simply not so sure about Melissa Joan Hart. Check it out for yourself:

What’s with the applique? What’s with the bag? Goodness gracious, woman, who wears lime green heels and barely matching accessories to the Kentucky Derby?! It looks like someone was scrambling for Derby-worthy duds a little too late.

Kelly Clarkson Changes the Wrong Thing

Well, I don’t like this change much. Kelly looked better with her smooth, sleek hair at the ASCAPs than she did at the “Idol Gives Back” event on Thursday.

All Kelly needed to change was the dress. This style is simply too big, too brown, and too dated!

Sex and the City: The Film is Here

I think I can muster up enough excitement to say that the Sex and the City film has finally arrived. It’s been drummed up so much that I feel like it’s already happened. Perezhilton gave us the exclusive:

There had been talk recently, but now the ink is dry and the papers are signed! Sources confirm exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Sarah Jessica Parker and everyone else involved just closed their deals this week to star in a big screen feature adaptation of Sex & The City. And, yes, Kim Cattrall will be in it!

Naomi Campbell Takes Work Seriously

It seems Naomi Campbell took her community service sentence really seriously. Yeah, it was a real serious photo opp. Let’s see if she gets new modeling gigs or just more seriously expensive free designer swag. *Gag*

Day One:

Ralph Lauren coat, Louboutin boots, Chanel cap and – oh! – lugging work boots. (And of course, a smile!)

Day Two:

Fur jacket, fedora, wedges, big satchel and Alexander McQueen sunglasses.

Day Three:

In a reaaaaally adorable Burberry leather jacket.

Day Four:

Gaudy fur, purple tie blouse and Marc by Marc Jacobs boots.

Day Five:

O.m.g.

An oversized Burberry cardigan and …

… an oversized Hermès Birkin!

What could she be carrying in the Birkin? …

Day Five Evening:

She changed into this Dolce & Gabbana gown for Elton John’s 60th birthday bash:

That is so ridiculous. Campbell is a joke. She hasn’t learned or grown from this experience! Naomi, grow a heart.

Accessories Feud: Bug Sunglasses – Britney vs. Nicole

Now Britney Spears is jumping on, quite late, to the big sunglasses trend. She looks pretty freaky, so much in fact that I’m thinking little bug-sized, bug-eyed Nicole Richie looks much better. After all, it’s a signature element of her look. What do you think – who wins this fashion feud?

This is not your normal Oscars Post

The stars are out and partying these last nights before the big O. night. You can read all about it on People.com here and here. Yawwwn.

Why do I care if I’m not there, too?

Seriously, the Academy Awards appear to me to be arbitrarily picked as THE night in entertainment – royally dissing TV, music, and everything else. The public goes ga ga for it, too, somehow. It’s all fine, because it’s entertainment itself – but when I read articles going on about the tiny details over dinner, dancing, flirting and club-hopping. All eaten up apparently because these people mean something(?).

Awards are good because they mean something about the art, even though civilian art, deeds, intelligence and just plain hard-work should be awarded equally (although the nominee pool would be arguably too large). Anyway, the acclaim really should end with the awards. And the fashion. Let’s not reward an "entertaining" night life, as well.

Just ask Britney. She’s practically one of us regular gals now, anyway.

Paris’s “Fans” Turn on Her

Paris is in Vienna to attend the Opera Ball, but that’s not what caught my eye. While she was signing autographs outside of the Vienna Mall, she was pelted with bits of garbage including lipstick, tissues, and cigarette packs. Despite having to leave the scene with security guards, Paris said that it’s “no big deal.” I suppose not, when you’ve already been humiliated countless times on film already. There’s nowhere to go but up, then! Way to be positive, Paris.
