I know it sounds crazy, but have you ever thought about strapping a gigantic fan to your back? Maybe to make it ultra nerdcool you could control it with a Power Glove. Yeah! I think that the guys at ThrustPac had the same idea, except that they actually built one. It looks kind of like a jetpack, but minus all that dangerous fire and flying around. There are some videos on the manufacturer's site, and for some reason I just can't stop laughing. I love it!

The product is pretty simple. By using a small and efficient gasoline motor to drive a fan the ThrustPaC delivers 10 to 20 lbs of thrust which translates into ~30 mph on a bicycle. It has a small tank for 30 mile jaunts, and the ThrustPac gets about 150 miles per gallon. Each ThrustPac is custom built so each unit is designed around the wearer's intended uses. As the device is worn on the rider's back it can be applied to any type of nonmotorized conveyance. The company is even able to build one for a wheelchair! Prices range from $900 to $2,000 depending on the options.

The Popgdaget writers have all had a pretty crazy week, and for some reason the ThrustPac just tickled a certain part of my brain that needed to laugh. Happy Weekend, everybody!
