New Beauty Products to Play with ...

Elke

While I've been getting ready for all these photo shoots this week, I've also managed to put a few new beauty products through their paces to see if they're something new and great to add to my list of must-haves.

First up;

Pookie's Pookamint Body Lotion

New arrival body products now bear the Pookie stamp just like their same name lip balms in Buffing Polish, Body Wash and Body Lotion. I got to try their Body Lotion, in a wonderful scent of Spearmint, Vanilla and Peppermint. Though I'm not a fan of peppermint and such scents (unless you're talking Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha, now that's another story), their added scents of vanilla really gives this lotion a wonderful warm scent that I really liked and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. And the best part was the lingering fragrance.

Also check out their specialty lip balm tins. Top sellers include "It's a Boy" and "It's a Girl" in a light orange taste "I Do", a champagne (yum!) flavored balm, and "Be Mine", in bubblegum flavor.

Tamz

Looking for another way to tame your flyaways, but don't want to carry around a can of hair spray? Try Tamz, a mascara like product that contains a hair taming wand that brushes on to calm down strays. Though it only really works along the part of the hair (anywhere else and it gets tangled up in the hair...) it's a easy way to be sure you're flyaway free, and convenient to toss in your purse. Another side benefit? It also tames unruly eyebrows too.

Lash Control Mascara

Featured in InStyle back in February, Lash Control has a new way of dispensing your mascara to give you a controlled amount every time. Between the cap and the mascara tube, there's a squeezie like rubbery connection that you can squeeze to control the amount that actually goes onto the brush. The concept is a great idea. Though when I tried it, I really saw no difference between squeeze and no squeeze. The brush is a great big fat round brush (my favorite type and actually bigger than it appears in the photo) and the mascara goes on nice and layers easily. Though I would have liked more diva like lashes, (maybe too much product on the brush would have been nice, with the ability to squeeze down to a more natural look) but the mascara goes on smooth, no clumps and stays on well with a medium effect on lashes. Not natural, but not intense either. Nice mascara that maybe over time, they'll get the concept to actually apply.
