Yes, it's true. Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson (from the well-known group " The Black Eyed Peas," the former pop group "Wild Orchid," and on the show "Kid's Incorporated") is utilizing her iconic status in Hollywood and teaming up with well-known designer brand, "Kipling," to create 2 handbag collections for 07-08. Fergie has made herself a household name in the way of sex appeal, fashion, controversial lyrics, and her independent woman nature. She joins a crew of fabulously fashionable Hollywood singers who have branched out and expanded their resume to also read, "handbag designer." Beyonce Knowles, Eve, Gwen Stefani, Jessica Simpson, and Jennifer Lopez, just to name a few, have all achieved great success with their signature handbag lines.

The Fergie collaboration teams up with a well-known designer line of handbags known as "Kipling." **Kipling was established in 1987, originally making very high quality backpacks and satchels for those with outdoor lifestyles. The brand Kipling was actually inspired by the author of "The Jungle Book." Kipling bags are **sold in 55 countries, and are now a go-to brand for both quality and function, as well as fun, vibrancy, and color! There is truly a Kipling bag to suit any lifestyle and personality! Kipling bags have been featured on the sets of some very famous TV shows: "Desperate Housewives," MTV's "Laguna Beach," "The O.C," "7th Heaven," and "ER," just to name a few.

Fergie is no stranger to designing. She currently, and has in the past, designed collections for the BlendShe brand of clothing and accessories. Her unique fashion sense, and iconic status has catapulted her from singer, effortlessly to designer, and rightfully so. This is truly the pinnacle of her career.

The Kipling/Fergie merger will spin out 2 collections. One collection will premiere in the first week of September 07. The second highly-anticipated collection will follow in the spring of 2008.

There is a lot of hush-hush as to where and when the exact date of release and which stores you will be able to purchase a "Fergie for Kipling" bag. That is, if you are able to get your hands on one. With all the buzz going on over this exciting collaboration, I wouldn't be surprised if the waiting lists are already a mile long! I do know that Kipling bags are often, and always, sold on ebags.com.

One thing is for sure, if these bags are anything like Fergie's personal sense of style, you had better be a handbag lover and/or very confident woman to purchase and carry a Fergie for Kipling handbag!
