There are many pleasures in life that promise happiness - wealth, fame, good looks, great guy. But the truth of the matter is that happiness doesn't come from the outward things we own, but from things that can't be seen. Here are seven promises of happiness for you to consider today!
1. You Don't Have to Be Perfect
Peer pressure is a serious problem in our society. Teenagers are pressured to be perfect in every way. The problem is is that none of us are perfect. We're all 100% human, and apt to make mistakes. The sooner that people realize and accept that they're going to make mistakes and that it's ok , the better off they are, and the more happier they are as well.
2. You Can Let Go
Holding onto your past, to trouble and hardships you've faced, only holds you back from the true happiness you could have. I know it's hard to forget your past, but try your best to put it behind you and move on. Instead, dwell on your future, and the love and care of family and friends. Just because you have a tough past doesn't mean you can never experience happiness again!
3. You Can Help
Volunteering your help and assistance to others is one of the greatest sources of happiness you'll ever find. There is something about doing for others that makes my heart burst with happiness and joy. It's a rewarding feeling to know that I was able to bring a smile to someone's face.
4. You Need People
Life wasn't created to be lived alone. We humans thrive better in a social environment. Surround yourself with friends and family and spend quality time with them rather than shutting yourself up like a hermit crab in your room. Remember, not only do you need people, but those people need you.
5. Live Life to It's Fullest
Experience is yet another key to happiness. Get out and live your life. Don't let it pass you by as you sit inside all day. Try new things, meet new people, go to new places! Kiss in the rain, play with a child. Let me say, you won't regret it!
6. Be a Good Example
It's an incredibly wonderful feeling when you see a young child following in your footprints. As adults, and even older teenagers, the younger generation is looking to us on how to live. What example are you setting? If it's a good one, you should be happy - happy to know that little eyes are watching you and learning, and that one day, they will be a better person for it.
7. Eat Right
Healthy food choices make for a happier life. If you do not believe me, try is a find out for your self. When you are healthy, you body is chemically balanced and that eliminates the depression, mood swings, and emotional crises unhealthy foods bring into your life that are not necessary.
Happiness doesn’t just happen. We get what we put into life. If you sow unhappiness, you reap unhappiness. Nobody likes a frown-y face person, anyway. How do you make people smile?
