I know winter is almost over (hopefully, fingers crossed, knock on wood) but, see, that's the good part. I like to wait until around March to go shopping for next year's winter accessories – because by then, they're all marked down! You can buy all the cute things you'd like for next year, it's awesome. Here, in fact, are 10 fun winter accessories I've got my eye on.

It rains a lot during the winter in New England – and I don't mind that. I'd rather it rain than snow, not in the least because then I can smell the ocean from my stoop. Either way, you can also use umbrellas when it's snowing, so it's a great time to buy one. I'm a fan of this one, both because of the design and because bubble umbrellas keep me dryer.

Only now could you possibly find cashmere gloves for less than fifty dollars. Even if cashmere's not your thing, you should get a pair of long gloves for next year. Whether you like fingerless gloves with the mittens attached, leather gloves, or what have you, it's a great time to buy. I, however, am dying for these.

If you don't like gloves, try arm warmers instead! I love these – I'm a huge fan of hot pink, of course, but I also love the biohazard symbol (which probably says a lot about me). The great thing about arm warmers is that they also look cool with practically any casual outfit.

Then, too, there's always the option of a hand warmer as well. These used to be called muffs but … I don't think that's the appropriate term any longer. Either way, they'll definitely keep your fingers toasty, no matter what you call them, and this one, with its leopard print, is quite chic as well!

Leg warmers are coming back as well, but you have to be careful about what kind you choose. These, however, with their spat styling and tuxedo design, are cool no matter what. They'll make you look great – and they'll keep your legs warm as well!
Price: $29.99 at modcloth.com
Of course, leg warmers aren't for everyone. You might decide on tights instead. I love this pair, with their sparkly rhinestones. In addition to being stylish, tights will always keep you warmer than hose, especially if they're opaque. Besides, how pretty are these?

Sometimes, all you need is a hat. I myself like more masculine hats, such as this subtly designed top hat. What could be better than keeping your ears warm while looking completely awesome at the same time? It's made of wool felt, at that, so it actually will keep your head arm when it's cold.

For those who aren't a fan of scarves, you might think of trying a shawl instead. Shawls also make excellent fashion pieces; you can throw one over the shoulders of just about any outfit and add to it. Because it covers your upper arms as well as your neck and throat, it's actually warmer than most scarves as well.

Then again, sometimes you just can't beat a scarf. I love the subtle but industrial design on this one – but at this time of the year, you'll be able to find veritable tons of awesome scarves at even more awesome prices. I'm totally going to take advantage of the price on this one thought – it's five feet long! That's nearly as tall as me!

Finally, what about knee socks? I used to wear these all the time, I don't even remember what made me stop. These are knitted, for extra warmth and style; I think they look so cute. When you don't feel like tights or leg warmers, these could be all you need.
I love taking advantage of the end of the season. It helps matters that stores are already trying to sneak in swimsuits and things. Are there any clothes you can't resist when they're on sale?
