Legendary Hollywood beauty Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed heartthrob George Clooney has bet her $100,000 he will never get married.

Pfeiffer, who has come out of retirement recently to play an old haggard witch in new fantasy film Stardust, told chat show host Jonathan Ross: “He’s just a great guy, great with kids.

“I bet him he would get married and he keeps inflating the bet - from $100 to $100,000.

“I still think he will, he’s a handsome devil.”

Clooney, 46, who is dating 28-year old ex-waitress Sarah Larson, has often joked about his fear of committment and has expressed he has no desire to have children.

But judging by George’s past form, it looks like Michelle will have to pay up, as both she and actress Nicole Kidman previously bet George $10,000 that he would become a father by the time he turned 40.

Kidman duly sent him a cheque on his birthday for the full amount, only for the serial monogamist to return it with a note that said, “Double or nothing for another 10 years.”

The Ocean’s 11 star is nursing a broken rib after his motorbike collided with a car on a road near New York.

Clooney and his passenger Larson, were both taken to hospital after the incident on a narrow road in New Jersey, across the Hudson river from New York City. But they have both now been released, even appearing on the red carpet together with Larson on crutches.

Michelle, 49, revealed she does not share her character’s fear of growing old.

At the star-studded film’s European premiere in London recently, Michelle said, “Well, I don’t have the secret to eternal youth, and I don’t want it.”

The “Hairspray” star also confessed she found it hard playing gnarled witch Lamia as she had to wear so much prosthetic make-up for the part.

She told showbiz website Bang Showbiz: “I was out of my comfort zone as an actress because I didn’t know how to act through the mask, how my facial expressions would come across.

“But I think it’s important to always take on new challenges and I learned to act in a new way.”

The program will be shown at 10.35pm on BBC1.
