It’s hard to believe that Mickey Mouse was created in 1928. Today, he’s still so popular. Mickey Mouse is short for Michell Mouse. This is a cartoon character that was turned into an icon for the Walt Disney Company.

Since I put Mickey Mouse on here, I can’t leave out Minnie Mouse. This is an animated character that was also created by the Walt Disney Company. In a comic strip story in 1942, her name was Minerva Mouse. Minnie and Mickey Mouse were both created in 1928.

Pluto is formerly referred to as Pluto the Pup. This is an animated cartoon character that was made famous by some Disney cartoons. He was known as Mickey Mouse’s dog. In the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s, he independently starred in forty eight short Disney stories. He is represented as being a normal dog, not like Goofy who is known for being an anthropomorphic dog. I always took a liking to Pluto.

I can’t possibly leave out Ariel, from the Little Mermaid! This is something that many little girls cannot get out of their mind. Every night, they want to watch the Little Mermaid and we can’t get enough of Flounder and Sebastian! My little girl, Ariela, likes Ariel.

I recently got Bambi on VHS. I know, VHS tapes are old, but my daughter has tons of them and I don’t see a problem in it. Bambi was popular back in my day (I’m 25 now). When I first watched it, I found it sad when Bambi’s mom died.

We can’t leave Aladdin off of this list! I also have this movie for my daughter on VHS and watching Aladdin with his pet monkey is very fun. We also have the SNES game called Aladdin, which allows you to control Aladdin through a side scrolling game. I wonder if they’re going to come out with any other stuff with Aladdin in it?

Okay, what good would this list be without Hannah Montana? I know, her days with Disney is coming to an end and my daughter will miss that, but everywhere I look, I see her! When I go out in public, “Look mom, it’s Hannah Montana” as my little girl is pointing at a pillow, bracelet, folder, notebook, clothes or something else that is Hannah-related. I always said that one day she’s going to do that and Miley will be standing there. Hannah is definitely a very loved Disney character.
So there you have my top 7 most loved Disney characters. Some of these characters are characters from the past, but I still see them around because many people like them. Will they ever get old? I don’t see them making characters like they did in the past. Then again, there will never be another Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy or Aladdin. So, who is your favorite Disney character? Come on, you have to have one.
