Peace out bitches! Flashing the peace sign has a whole new meaning since a slew of peace- related products have the hit market. We all have our classic khaki trench correct? It's time to spice things up in many clothing categories but the trench looks quite delectable in a bevy of colors. Colored trenches are alluring because they have a classic cut but unexpected color. It's the ideal way to achieve a classically modern look. There I go contradicting myself again . . .
Put on your pearls girls! I know the majority of you prefer diamonds but pearls â€" long and lean ones â€" are experiencing a rebirth. My motto is anything that SJP wears, grants trend status; however, I don't think pearls can be considered trendy. They are classic! From Coco herself, to the sidewalks of Hollywood on Ashlee Simpson to the woman who embodies Carrie Bradshaw, a long strand of pearls, or two, or three, is new again.

Black and white has had so many incarnations in the past year. It's definitely evolved and it's still relevant â€" only today, it's textural black and white. Randomly, Little Red Riding Hood made an appearance on the catwalks of LA Fashion Week. Except, the brave little girl came in the form of tall, beanpole models showing off a Fall 2008 trend: hoods. Striped cardigans had hoods at the Whitley Kros show (left); coats at the Alexis Lamontagna collection came hooded (right); and one of Octavio Carlin's silk dresses even incorporated the style. Quick change artists will be attracted to the fashionable functionality of fold-over handbags. One minute it's a tote, the next it's a clutch, then it's a boho. A relative of the convertible bag, design trickery like this makes the high price tag seem not so. Or is that just me rationalizing fashion again?
For a less in-your-face approach to the overarching artsy trend than straight up brush strokes, there are watercolor ways. Delicate, ethereal, but still crafty, pastel and vibrant hues have formed together to create beauties like Rachel Bilson's Zac Posen. I'm torn â€" I love the boldness of brush strokes but the mystique of watercolor ways. Guess I'll have to give both a go!

Wasn't I just praising jet hued gowns of Oscars past? Call it red carpet ESP, or a mere coincidence, but many ladies dared to go bold in noir colored gowns at this year's Oscars.
