Viva Glam is Back

MAC is back with the newest addition to its collection of Viva Glam lippies. **Viva Glam VI**, according to MAC's site, is a "warm terracotta-plum fusion with subtle pearl" in the Lustre finish, and I think it's gorgeous. More important than the color, though, every cent of the proceeds from Viva Glam VI goes to the MAC AIDS Fund to support people living with HIV/AIDS.

Viva Glam VI is available in Lipstick and Lipglass, and the ad campaign features 4 lovely new spokesmodels - Eve, Lisa Marie Presley, Debbie Harry, and Dita von Teese. I love seeing the Viva Glam ads year after year, and these don't disappoint. The colors and the "cutout" look have that '80s feel that we've been seeing in nearly everything this season, but each photo has its own personality. Debbie's punk rock look and Dita's signature pinup girl pose are perfect and fitting, and I really love Eve's Bob Fosse-esque styling in this photo.

MAC caused quite a scandal a few weeks back with the Sandra Bernhard campaign for Plushglass, but regardless of your feelings on that, I would urge you to get out there and pick up a tube of Viva Glam VI to support the cause. The HIV/AIDS epidemic is certainly an issue that deserves our continued attention and support, with an estimated 4.1 million people newly infected with HIV in 2005, and 38.6 million people living with HIV worldwide.
