.....but unfortunately he couldn't save Lois Lane from a bad hair day.

But let's back up a little.

One really disappointing photo shoot last week, and I decide a little R&R is needed, which perfectly coincides with the July 4th weekend festivities. And a relaxing weekend wraps up with a trip with friends to see the Devil Wears Prada which is majorly sold out. So Superman it is.

Let's just say, my faith in the good ole' U.S.A. and the red, white and blue is totally restored. Man, this country sure could use a Superman. I could use a Superman. But that's another story.

This movie is one big action packed, I forgot I was holding my breath mega feature. I walked out floating on air, and yes, a little in love with the new and improved Superman.

What could use a little more improving? Lois Lane. What is going on here? The movie style is retro and modern all at the same time. Elegant old movie star era movie sets, with environments you just want to move into right away. Clothing so retro and sleek, they fit into the scene effortlessly, with style and showmanship.

But Lois Lane, played by Kate Bosworth, from the neck up? Wow. What a disaster. I completely agree with Bad Hair Day, and her description of hair gone wrong. Or should I say wigs gone wrong? Frazzled, haggard, unkept, horrible curls and waves may have been done to portray their version of the frazzled, haggard and unkept Lois Lane character. But to add to the neck up disaster was also her face. Plain and unmade up for most of the time, with skin so thin you felt you could see right through it. No eyes, or lips, sometimes a touch of blush. What were they thinking? Instead of trying to incorporate her look into the whole scenario, she just faded in along with her -2 size outfits.

It could have been so beautifully done. Elegant eyes, false lashes, perfectly drawn on lips ala the elegant sophistication of the 40's and 50's era.

Not here. Sadly here, it was not all about the makeup. It was about the lack of.
