On September 8th, 2008 I had a hysterectomy. I am 23 years old and by the graces of God had two beautiful girls with one ovary. They are the ages of 1 year and 2 months. My doctor tells me at my check up that I have been bleeding for 8 weeks (after having my second daughter) because** there is still placenta in my unterous**. The nurse proceeds to tell me that this is very rare in a c-section delivery. So they are now telling me i have to go have a DNC done.
I have had 2 surgeries to have cists removed from my female organs due to endometriosis. Which I thought only occurred in women that have already had kids. I guess not, so 2 surgeries and 2 c-sections later my dr. tells me that I will have to have a hysterectomy before I am 30, the cists will just take over my reproductive organs. So I told him if he has to put me under and take me in the O.R. again then to just take my uterus out and make my life easier. So he agreed and on our way to the O.R. we went.
Should I have waited until I needed the hysterectomy?
Did I do it at a good time where i am still young enough to heal quickly?
