Some people like heading outdoors for a run or a walk. Some like staying in the safety and comfort of their homes to exercise. However, there are some people who like going to gym to get their daily workout. Aside from having all those gym equipments at their disposal, there is also the social aspect of the gym to enjoy. However, like in the work place, there are people who can ruin the gym experience. I don’t go to the gym but it’s pretty much the same experience at the track. Well, except for a few personalities. Anyway, without further ado, here are 8 of the most annoying people you might meet in the gym.

These people seem to have a faulty sense of smell. For some reason, they are so oblivious and do not know that they already have a bad case of body odor. The worst kind of B.O. that can waft your way is that sickly sweet smell that makes you gag. I wish that I could just walk up to them and offer them a deodorant.

These people cannot keep their eyes to themselves. They look and stare incessantly until you feel like you are being undressed by their eyes. It makes working out uncomfortable.

Sweating is a natural bodily process so there is nothing we can do about it. It is one thing to sweat all over your workout clothes. But it is another thing to sweat all over gym equipment and not clean up. Not only is it unhygienic, but it is also additional work on your part to clean up after their mess.

It is quite annoying for someone to walk up to you in the middle of your workout and give you advice on your form. Actually, any kind of unsolicited advice from a stranger is annoying.

I don’t know about you but I sometimes like to workout in silence. It feels really good to just focus on the movements and feel the burn. So the non-stop talker who doesn’t know what personal space means is not a welcome personality in my book.

Most gyms have time limits on cardio machines. Some people actually wait for their turns before they can start their workout. It can be pretty annoying when someone uses a machine beyond the time limit even when they see a line forming behind them.

Their self-confidence is something to be admired. But let me ask you, where has modesty gone? Being naked is good in certain situations. However, it is quite disconcerting to see naked people prancing around in the locker rooms with no regard to how others might feel.

Okay, so they have the body to go with the outfit. But come on! It’s the gym and it is encouraged to wear appropriate clothing. This applies to both men and women. The world doesn’t have to see their breasts bouncing or their balls hanging out. It is distracting and can ruin a potentially good workout.
Many people, me included, turn to exercise for some introspection, relaxation, and detoxification. It can be challenging to enjoy oneself if these people are around you. Unfortunately, you cannot control their actions; you can only control your reactions. You can choose to ignore them, be upfront with them, or ask the gym for help. Let me ask you: how do you deal with these annoying gym personalities?
