The kids are playing outside and they fall down and get a boo boo. Instead of grabbing the ice that will quickly melt, grab your pennies. Just place a bunch of pennies in an old sock, tie, and place in the freezer. When needed, just pull out and use on the bruise – without the wet mess!

Have you re-arranged the living room and the legs of the coffee table left an unsightly dent in the carpet? Remove it with ease. Simply use the edge of your penny and rub the dent furiously back and forth. The friction will erase the dent in a matter of minutes.

Bury a few pennies around the roots of your new plants. When those slugs start digging around your plants, the copper in the pennies will give off an electrical shock and send those bugs a running!

Copper is a natural algaecide. So by placing a penny in the bottom of your vase, the copper will kill the mucus- type yucky algae. Your flowers will live longer, all thanks to the penny!

The distance between the top of Lincoln’s head the rim of the penny is exactly 1/16th of an inch. That’s the minimum suggested for tire tread. Stick the penny in the tread with Lincoln’s head down. The tread should touch his head. If it doesn’t, it may be time for new tires.

Add a few pennies to the hem of your curtains. The weight will cause the curtains to hang straight and neat. No more rumpled curtains! Two or three pennies is all should take to straighten them up.

Sometimes a child -proof bottle is adult proof too! An easy way to open it? Use a penny! Stick the penny under the lid an apply pressure. Wedge the penny as far under the lid as you can. The pressure will easily open the bottle.
