7 Ways to Banish Dark Circles ...

One way to banish dark circles is to get plenty of sleep. If you’re struggling to get a good seven or eight hours a night, you may well see the effects of this on your face. Perhaps the most common cause of dark rings around the eyes is a simple lack of sleep; address this issue, and soon you’ll be back to your fresh-complexioned self.

Shadows beneath the eyes are often an allergic reaction. You may not even know you have allergies. If you’re plagued by dark circles no matter how much sleep you get, then you may want to head to the pharmacy and ask for an over-the-counter anti-allergen.

Nicotine and various components in alcohol are major contributors here. Taken regularly and in large doses, these chemicals inhibit cardiac function and decrease the flow of oxygen to the skin. This can result in skin problems across the board and one of these is a darkening around the eyes.

4

Hydrate

Keeping properly hydrated is another way to banish dark circles. Dehydration can manifest as shadows under the eyes. Make sure you drink plenty of water – experts recommend around 8 glasses a day – in order to keep your skin tone even and your face looking perky.

5

Eat Your Greens

Dark circles under your eyes can be a sign of a nutrient deficiency. If you suffer from ineradicable shadows, dietitians suggest you boost your vitamin K intake. This means you’ll want to eat more green veg: try to include things like broccoli, cabbage and spinach in your diet. Alternatively, you could take a specially formulated supplement.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

The strategic use of good make up is another way to banish dark circles. There are hundreds of specially formulated eye creams on the market today, and a substantial percentage of these claim to eliminate dark circles. Find a good-quality product that works for you, and make sure you apply it correctly; beauticians recommend you dab cream along the lower orbital bone using short, light strokes.

Conceal

A yellow toned concealer applied gently beneath the eyes will effectively eliminate the appearance of dark circles. Pair this with a dab of illuminator along your orbital bone, and then get on with your make up as normal. Just like that, the shadows will be banished.

In addition to these strategies, there are multiple home remedies involving cucumber, potatoes and even turmeric powder (!). I suspect that not every one of these is effective, but if you’re keen, give them a try. Hopefully, my list of 7 ways to banish dark circles will help you to fix your tired eyes. Do you have any tips of your own to add?
