I can't help but chant, "Donna Martin graduates. Donna Martin graduates," whenever I read about Tori Spelling. Anyone? Anyone?
It's been years since 90210, a nice respite since her VH1 show NoTORIous, but now she's back, with husband and baby-to-be, with a new show on Oxygen. Tori & Dean: Inn Love. The show will follow Tori as she spends her $800,000 inheritance to open up a bed & breakfast in Southern California. The six-episode reality shows airs this March and one of Swagtime's latest discoveries, the beautiful home furnishings by designer Carrol Boyes, will play a large part in helping Tori and Dean decorate the B&B.
Carrol Boyes is a South African artist who creates stellar functional art, crafted in a fusion of metals (pewter, aluminum, stainless steel), that is heavily inspired by her passion and love for her country. It was hard to keep my eyes on any one piece when I first encountered her work at the 2007 Silver Spoon Hollywood Buffet in honor of the recent Golden Globes. Her cutlery and homeware pieces are so unusually beautiful and gracefully eccentric that their elegance just overwhelms you.
The stars couldn't get enough of these items. Lindsay Lohan picked up the quirky magazine rack and then called after she left to get more pieces for her apartment.
Bai Ling fell in love with one of Carrol Boyes most popular pieces, the "Put Your Foot In It" Bowl.
Desperate Housewives' Shawn Pyfrom figured he could shake it up with the "Backbend" Cocktail Shaker while Ashley Jones could write it down with the Pen Woman.
Kathy Hilton added the stylish Oik & Vinegar Drizzlers to her collection and Tori & Dean started their collection with the Kids "Capricorn" Cutlery Set.
