Carla Bruni arrived at Heathrow this week in dark grey Dior coat, matching pillbox hat and black Dior handbag. Her clear stockings and demure black flats killed the "I'm no longer the fun-loving woman I used to be" look.
For the Queen's State Banquet for the French President and his wife, she was again in Dior. This time a navy blue Dior gown in which she was demure, beautiful and not trying to detract any attention from her husband in Prada.
On her second day in London, to attend Luncheon at Lancaster House with the British Prime Minsters wife, Sarah Brown, Carla opted to wear a purple coat over another grey Dior ensemble.
Last night, for dinner at London's Guildhall to mark the end of her husband's state visit, out went the little grey suits (thank god), Princess coats and coyly-covered shoulders.
Carla Bruni abandoned her restrained attire for something more racy figure-hugging and not so boring.
She dazzled everyone in this maroon strapless gown with a diamond necklace which was only eclipsed by her mega-watt smile.
All of her outfits were custom-made apart from this Christian Dior Fall 2008 ensemble.
I bet she would have preferred the racy red version.
I am not sure if the visit of the French President was success, because all the English papers are talking about is his wife Carla.
I think she did very well considering her restraints, but in future I beg her to pick another colour than just grey. It's also very unfortunate that she was forced to wear flats in order not to eclipse her shorter husband.
As Malena said she has great style.
