Friday, 6pm at Bryant Park…
The most entertaining show by far this week at Bryant Park is hands down, the Snoopy in Fashion show. This presentation brought together a bunch of designers, Broadway stars, stylists, celebrity models, etc. for the cause of raising money for the organization “**Dress for Success**“. This non-profit organization promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. Celebs like Whoopi Goldberg, Isaac Mizrahi, Betsey Johnson and Kristen Chenoweth designed or modelled outfits inspired by the many characters in the “**Peanuts**” universe created by Charles M. Schultz. Each ensemble is being auctioned on Ebay, as well the sale of limited edition scarves for this great cause.
Some of the best looks, the feathered cocktail dress inspired by “Woodstock”, the “Pigpen” evening ensemble by Project Runway’s Laura Bennett, and the multiple Snoopy gowns. From the first notes of the famous Charlie Brown special piano tune, the crowd was in a playful frame of mind. Vintage ‘Peanuts’ cartoons were projected at the back and clips of the classic dance scenes from the Christmas played as well.
Parting souvenir? (Love this!) A Snoopy sno-cone machine!
