I've always loved the Lower East Side. From all the little unique fashion boutiques, to the selective vintage shops, to Teeny, this little shopping mecca has always held a special place in my heart. It's where I know I can always find a Vice Magazine, or that special can't-find-anywhere-else one-of-a-kind fashion piece. But many times, I forget that there's a formidable world of deals beyond Delancey St. Yesterday, as I strolled down Orchard, I ventured across the Great Threshold, and stumbled upon a cute vintage jewelry shop named Pippin. The place had been there for 2 years, I'd been informed, and is a favorite inspiration destination for fashion designers. The selection was out-of-this WORLD and the prices were so right, I had to stop myself from doing considerable damage to my wallet. Make a beeline for the carefully selected $5 drawers, each thankfully labeled and separated by clip-on earrings, rings, cufflinks, and more. I left with a fabulous rhinestone 1950's drop necklace ($18) and a charming pair of pearl and rhinestone earrings ($5). Trust me on this one--this store is a true gem!Pippin Vintage Jewelry72 Orchard St. New York, NY 10002Ph: (212) 505-5159Hours: Monday- CLOSEDTuesday-Saturday 1:00-7:00Sunday 12:00-6:00F to DelanceyOrchard bet.
