Paris Fashion Week - Giambattista Valli Amp Valentino

Giambattista Valli collection was stunning. I particularly loved the red extreme bubble dresses, although I feel they may be too edgy for the red carpet.

White, black, grey, red, pink and even one dash of sky blue, made up the colour palette.

Coats and dresses were pouffed and padded to make the voluminous. Not just in the shoulders, but in the most unlikely places like the thighs and hips.

Fur featured heavily in the form of coats, capes, skirts and shrugs.

The sky-high Victoria Shoe - named after Victoria Beckham - was worn by most of the models, and there was also an updated version of this shoe, which I much prefer.

Chic In Paris attended this show, and she has a full runway report on her site.

Ashley Olsen attended this show wearing a coat from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2008 collection, a Azzedine Alaia dress, the original Victoria shoes and a very strange pair of Chanel sunglasses.

This was Alessandra Facchinetti first collection for Valentino. It was never going to be easy to fill Valentino Garavani shoes, but Alessandro appears to have passed the test.

From looking at the collection she has paid great respect to her predecessor in that the collection kept Valentino's values of femininity and sophistication, plus she kept the trade mark 'Valentino red' evening dress, and staples such as suits and day coats.
