Paris Fashion Week - Christian Dior

Fashion Week is back in Paris, but this time it is the Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear collections.

Christian Dior's Fall 2008 collection was as to be expected absolutely amazing. It definitely had the wow factor, and we expect nothing less from Mr Galliano.

The theme was the 60's with the big backcombed hair, bright shift dresses, bubble skirts, psychedelic prints, theatrical white eye makeup, and a-line coats.

The only thing that did not appear in this collection were pants, only neat ladylike suits and dresses featured.

The colour palette was wide ranging. For a Fall collection, I was surprised to see tangy shades of tangerine, lime fuchsia and lilac, but as this is a Galliano collection were anything is possible.

The evening wear, cocktail dresses and floor-length gowns with their lavish colours and glittering embellishment will no doubt show up at many red carpet events.

My favourite piece was a bright pink sequined bustier with the red bubble skirt.

Chic In Paris, as usual, was the only blogger who attended this fantastic show. You can read her front row review on her site.

While Penelope Cruz celebrated boyfriend Javier Bardem's Oscar win in Hollywood, her younger sister, Monica Cruz took in this show. Look as gorgeous as ever wearing a Dior jacket.

Lucy Liu was also there wearing a prim white ensemble. The surprising absentee was Dita Von Teese.
