Frequently asked questions
Pea Pod

This pale, yellow-green colour definitely has a calming effect. It’s a fresh shade of green, which epitomises spring and summer perfectly. However, it’s subdued enough to make it easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. As seen in Erin Fetherston’s spring collection, this is easily one of the coolest colours around.
Beeswax

As seen at Betsey Johnson and Tibi, this is a warm, honeyed yellow colour. Much like Coral Rose, Beeswax is tipped to be a hot colour for the warmer months. Wear it with neutrals or pair it with other colours. No matter what you wear it with, Beeswax will add a much needed pop of colour to any outfit.
Silver Peony

Silver peony is definitely a must have colour for S/S 2011. This beige colour with silver undertones is the perfect remedy to all the sorbet colours set to be popular this summer. Stock up on pieces of clothing this colour, because it's set to be big. This will be one of the staple colours to base your wardrobe around. Pair it with brights or keep it simple with other neutrals. You can’t go wrong, really.

Russet

Another one of the “nude hues” set to be popular this season, this deep shade of brown is the perfect backdrop for a multitude of other colours. Russet was popular in the spring collections of Rebecca Minkoff and Charlotte Ronson. A touch of this colour will add a sense of sophistication to any outfit. Look for lightweight jackets, t-shirt, or shorts in this colour.
Regatta

Regatta, a bright turquoise blue, reminds me of the clearest of oceans. Favoured by designers such as Catherine Malandrino and Tommy Hilfiger, it’s going to be a big season for this colour. Pair it with citrus colours for an out-there outfit, or with white for a nautical inspired look. Blue is a favourite for many, and this latest take on it is bound to be popular.
Blue Curacao

This colour pays homage to the 2010 colour of the year, turquoise. Its popularity is set to continue in 2011. Blue curacao, a vibrant aqua must have colour for S/S 2011, is reminiscent of tropical islands and sunshine filled days. But you don’t need to be on holiday to wear this outfit. Wear it to work or out to play, and inject a little vacation into your day!
Lavender

Romantic and sweet, lavender is a personal favourite of mine. It just speaks spring and summer. You don’t need to go overboard though. Wear it on your nails, or pick up a few lavender coloured accessories.
Silver Cloud

This is the colour that will coordinate with everything in your wardrobe and tie outfits together. If silver isn’t your thing, go for grey instead. If you’re wearing this colour alone, make sure there are plenty of eye-catching details in your outfit. Too much of this colour and you may look a little bit drab.
So there we have it, the most must have colours for S/S 2011. Some sweet shades to take you through the season. Which of these colours are you looking forward to wearing?
