Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown last month and has yet to get a DNA test from Eddie Murphy.
"He's not doing a DNA test and he's not signing the birth certificate," Brown toldPEOPLE Tuesday at a party for the U.S. launch of the BOOTS beauty brand in Hollywood. "So it's going to have to go to court so he can be forced to do it, which is strange since he was the one asking for it."
Brown, 31, who has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix, with her ex-husband, has long maintained that Murphy, 46, is her new baby's father, although he told a Dutch TV show in December: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."
Murphy also has not contacted Brown since Angel was born, Brown said: "He hasn't seen his daughter. My people have contacted his people and they just had no response to anything."
Although Brown refers to Murphy as "a great guy," she added: "I just think no woman should have to go through that and no baby should have to go through that. Be responsible. What else can you say?"
Time to be a man Eddie and step up.
