Do you own anything with a floral design in it in your closet? I do admit to being a flower fanatic in my younger days because the designs just make me feel all frilly and feminine. However, now is as good a time as any to dive deep into your floral collection because spring has come! And nothing translates the theme of spring more than the budding freshness of roses and tulips and peonies and daisies.
For their spring collection for 2008, designers have revealed their own version of ‘flower power’ in the runway. Ralph Lauren’s 40th anniversary collection included a series of dainty floral print evening dresses in georgette silk. The Stella McCartney spring collection, on the other hand, showcased flowing dresses which reminded me of a 70’s theme and the spring accent is provided by the silk voile which has a print of scattered wildflowers.
For you to pull off the floral fashion look, go for floral dresses with shorter hemlines to provide a flirty feel to your outfit. If you are so against floral prints on dresses, you can still sport the trendy spring fashion look by wearing a blossom brooch to your casual shirt, dress or jacket.
