Six months after her very public divorce from Revlon mogul Ronald Perelman, actress Ellen Barkin is opening up about her six-year marriage, which hit rock bottom when the billionaire’s security men escorted her out of his townhouse and onto East 63rd Street. “It’s certainly not the shining moment of my 53 years on this planet,” the glamorous blond star of “Sea of Love” tells Parade. “What the hell was I thinking? Marry a rich guy? Was I crazy? I was already at the party. I didn’t need someone to get me through the door. How could I be so clueless?” Stories of Perelman’s controlling attitude included him demanding his fourth wife not film sex scenes, kissing scenes or tape outside of New York. And her agreement to do “Ocean’s Thirteen” in 2004 infuriated him. “Did I actually think I was going to give up working? It’s important for me to work,” she said. Of the $20 million worth of jewelry she sold last October, all gifts from her ex, Barkin said, “I didn’t want to look down at my hand and be reminded of why I left him. I didn’t need to carry around the baggage of a man who had tried to make me Mrs. Somebody. The jewelry wasn’t a trophy for me. It was more like a battle scar.”
