Philippine's Marie Claire magazine awards best cosmetic products for 2006.
Interesting how similar, and different their picks are compared to the recent CEW winners.
See highlights of the story below:
"According to Marie Claire Philippines editor-in-chief Myrza Sison, an international panel of beauty professionals determined the best products available anywhere to receive this year’s award, based on a number of criteria including originality, texture and design.
Clarins Liquid Bronze 4.2 oz ad.linksynergy.com ">**Liquid Bronze** by Clarins is a self-tanning product which the jury decided delivers its promise of an even, natural-looking tan at minimum fuss. Clarins is locally available at Rustan’s.
**Rouge Pure Shine by YSL** was considered “more coloured than a lip gloss and more scintillating than a classic red,” as well as “an object of beauty, a joy...fantastic.” What’s unusual about it is that you can open the lipstick with one movement of the thumb — “you push downward and the tube glides downward to reveal the colour.”
Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick Pretty In Pink 563, ,ad.linksynergy.com, ">KissKiss by Guerlain is “another great lipstick” and its “sculptural gilded metal case” is “a work of art.” Not only is it “one of the most beautiful pieces of makeup,” KissKiss is also a joy to wear, according to the jury.
Sensitive Calming Day Cream by ,Nivea, Visage was adjudged highly effective and pocket-friendly, too. “After one application, my skin felt calm, like being enveloped in an ultra-soft fabric,” said one judge. This product is not yet available locally.
**Platineum Complete Restructuring Cream SPF 15 by Lancome** (the most awarded beauty company in the history of the Prix d’Ecellence de la Beaute Awards), was deemed “a brave project,” addressing the sixtysomething complexion. This innovative product, which will only be available in the Philippines in 2007, works to rebuild fragile, mature skin.
The ever-popular ">**Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline** is the only foundation to be featured in this year’s list. The product, as its loyal users attest, is voluptuous and light, delivering a natural matte finish, as if one were not wearing makeup at all!
">**Volume Shocking by L’Oreal Paris** is the mascara which, the beauty jury accord, “makes you look like you’re wearing fake eyelashes” for its sheer volume. It was deemed “innovative, alluring, shocking as it volumizes the lashes up to 12 times more!” This product will be available in July at major department stores and drugstores.
The Philippine Beauty Jury’s pick, **Shimmer Brick Compact by Bobbi Brown**, was praised as “a straightforward, down-to-earth beauty must-have.” It is versatile and can be used per shade or in combination with the other colors in the palette, as an eyeshadow/blush/highlighter."
