8 Garments to Borrow from Your Boyfriend ...

Boyfriends are good for quite a few things – fixing things, carrying heavy shopping and well, one or two other things. At this chilly time of year though, they really come into their own. Because men have lots of lovely warm oversized clothes you can borrow. Try the following items to keep you toasty until spring.

1 Jumper

There’s something so wonderfully comforting about snuggling into your boyfriend’s oversized sweater. Even though the hem will be somewhere around your knees (if you’re as short as I am) and you’ll have to fold the cuffs up, the extra-large size seems to trap heat and keep you lovely and warm.

Frequently asked questions

2 Scarf

If it turns cold when you’re out with your boyfriend, and you’ve forgotten your scarf, the solution is simple. Borrow his. If he’s a gentleman he won’t mind getting cold so that you can stay warm.

3 Socks

I nearly always wear men’s socks in winter. They may not be that long on a man, but they certainly are on me! In fact, they’re knee-length, so my legs stay nicely warm. Just make sure that he has washed them before you pinch them (a simple smell test will suffice).

4 T-Shirt

Men’s t-shirts are great for sleeping in, or wandering around the house. They’re long enough to cover you (it really annoys me when a t-shirt rides up during the night and I get a cold back). Plus they look really cute with jeans or shorts.

5 Hat

Not many men wear hats these days, but if your boyfriend has a great fedora, you’re onto a winner (unless he takes a really big hat size). Woolly hats will also keep your head warm, but do not, under any circumstances, borrow his baseball cap (or allow him to wear it out in public with you).

6 Gloves

Have you noticed that men don’t seem to suffer from cold hands as much as women do? So if your hands get cold and you haven’t got your gloves with you, borrow his (he can always stuff his hands in his pockets. Put yourself first).

7 Watch

An oversized men’s watch can look really stylish on women. Of course, it depends how adjustable the watch is and how big or small your wrist, but I always used to buy men’s watches, as I don’t like the dainty little female versions. I prefer a dial I can actually read, rather than having to squint.

8 Fleece

Ohhhh yes, how snuggly is a big man’s fleece jacket? Seeing you cold and shivering will bring out a man’s protective instincts, and he will be happy to lend you his fleece. You’ll be warm in no time.

Let’s face it, we look better in men’s clothes than they do! Fortunately the reverse is not true.
